Team Poseidon fished this past Saturday during the SU Open in Racine, WI. Fishing was awesome the waves were not… We ended up 16 for 20, with 7 Kings and the rest being a splattering of grease and ho’s. Big King for us was 18.25# with 4 others in the 12-14# range.
Until about 8am we only ran 4 rods, 2 riggers and 2 divers as it was rough and those 4 rods were providing plenty of action. Best depth of water was 100-125ft, from 70-110down. Every fish came on one of three flasher fly setups: White Protroll / Poseidon Naughty Leprechaun on a rigger (70-95down); White Protroll / Poseidon Gin & Tonic Frog on a Rigger down 80-110ft ; White Protroll / Poseidon Naughty Frog on a Wire Diver out 105-175loc. Chrome flashers took zero hits, and the two spoons we ran on the 200 copper and a 250 copper didn’t get a sniff from 9am till 12PM, unreal. Ended up in 6th place for the Southwest Lake Michigan Challenge Series, and 18th place overall. Very well run tournament and a lot of fun with fantastic fishing. Sorry for the lack of pictures but between the waves and the action photos got lost in the mix.
